Trois musiques pour endormir les enfants d'un compositeur
triptych for piano, 2011 to listen to the musics, remove the https://www. from the adress bar
The Jose Eduardo Martins'order coincided with this marvellous period... and so exhausting to have an small infant at home -my son Tom has 16 month to date- where only spaces of relaxation are those when he sleeps with closed fists. The occasion was too beautiful to miss associating the homage to Francisco of Lacerda with the reality of the moment
while composing musics to send children to sleep (not only those of the composer) while making a wink to the portuguese composer's masterpiece who can't pass unperceived in the world of piano works so much content is also brilliant as title. Hoping that my new one brings as much pleasure to the pianist and to the public as the first which inspired it.

Public reception was enthusiastic in Portugal. Jose Eduardo Martins summed up in one of his last novembre 2011 articles in his blog his impessions about the last recital tour concert in Povoa de Varzim : "The Eurico Carrapatoso's works, who was present, as the Francois Serveniere's three had rave reviews. These are really beautiful compositions. A Russian pianist and teacher said that it is not necessary to make incomprehensible music to please to "intelligentsia" because here we noticed the structural organization of the relevant works and their integration with the public, that was very receptive".
The work has been again performed on the january 28th, 2013 by the Brazilian pianist at the "Concert dans l'atelier" in Paris, in first perform in France, as related in the two articles on his blog and on mine in its french original version.
A sublime version of Trois musiques pour endormir les enfants d'un compositeur is now available under the pianist Jose Eduardo MARTINS' fingers in his new opus Retour vers l'Enfance producted by ESOLEM PRODUCTION, released in July 2020.

Musicians have an additional possibility to send to sleep their children : to play to them some music. They would have twists to be deprived them ! This photo was taken by Elise Breux during the finalization of the music in homage to Francisco de Lacerda. It makes already its effect...
The composer and performer at the restaurant after the concert in Coimbra on November 2011, the 3rd. The sense of accomplishment, the joy of shared music, and the sublime Portuguese wine... In vino veritas !
A week before the first of this series of Coimbra recitals, Jose Eduardo has organized several concerts at home in Sao Paulo to test his program. Was present at the last his friend painter Luca Vitali who saw the photo above the partition. The following Monday morning I received in my mailbox via Jose Eduardo's one the beautiful work below... I was very touched by this gesture and the Luca Vitali's graphic talents which I still admire the expression in the Jose Eduardo's blog and in the painter's personal website. Infinite thanks !
At the concert in Evora, the 11th, November 2011, the surprise came from one of his best friends, the famous Portuguese architect and photographer then arrived unannounced, Antonio Meneres, who dedicated to him the magnificent picture below, also in honor of the four composers who made this program: Francisco de Lacerda, Eurico Carrapatoso, Carlos Seixas and myself. Wonderful inspiration and great gifts to keep throughout life. Infinite thanks !
Photo by Regina Normanha Martins, the January 28th, 2013 at the Concert a l'atelier (see here the blog article corresponding). The virtuoso pianist Jose Eduardo Martins and the composer converse about music and piano performance following the fabulous and intimate recital organized by the painter Jean-Paul Laurens' descendants in his historical workshop regularly transformed into a concert hall. What a magical acoustics in this place with those fabulous Steinways !
