I worked with Franck Roussel since Alain Berberian's long film
Paparazzi.
At that time he needs an arranger-orchestrater to develop, compose and orchestrate the three 30" music basic melodies that he sold to his advertising agency. For the second time, I arrange, develope and orchestrate his music. In this occasion, on
Voyage temporel (cf. album Une guerre en plein coeur), I use an original chamber nomenclature : double orchestra score with a basic string quartet added with an oboe/english horn, a double part trombone, a saxophone playing soprano then tenor. It was technically interesting. I was again able to record with Opera de Paris excellent musicians, Christophe Guyot and Philippe Nadal. This piece pleased to Marc Thonon, the Atmospheriques label manager. It helped as Une guerre en plein coeur album starting point. Finally, further to the recording with the European Philharmonic Orchestra during March 2000 in the Studio du Palais (Paris), one week before the concert of April 4th, 2000 in the St Severin church, during whom were played three of the works that I had orchestrated Maintenant l'apaisement, Un souffle d'Orient, Repartir encore), I ask to the Franck Roussel's express order, to re-write Voyage temporel for this orchestra. |
