MUSIC AND SPORTS FUSION

INSEP and the Federation Nationale des Joinvillais celebrated, last Wednesday, May 15th, the 150th birthday of the creation of the Ecole de Joinville in the velodrome of the covered stadium Joseph Maigrot.

To honour the Micheline Ostermeyer's memory, triple awarded an Olympian prize and pianist virtuoso, the "crater" of the velodrome received a gala evening which assists not less than 400 guests of the sports world and firms. The party started with the famous virtuoso pianist Francois-Rene DUCHABLE and Helene BERGER, Micheline OSTERMEYER's alumna and friend, which gave to public an incredible four hands piano recital. A program magnificently interpreted on which, with the participation of Gerard QUYNTIN, the guests could see evolving the cyclists on lane, in an extraordinary symbiosis of music and sports, this gala evening, organized to the advantage of research against the cancer to obtain a benefit of 10.000 Euros. This check was jointly delayed in live to the President of the Ligue Nationale Contre le Cancer (section Paris) by misters Robert d'ARTOIS, INSEP general secretary and Rudolphe ROGER, the president of the Federation Nationale des Joinvillais.

Other fact marking, this party birthday was honoured with the presence of the very new Ministre des Sports, Jean-Francois LAMOUR, that reminded the orientations taken by the ministry regarding the institute while iterating personal attachment that he have with INSEP where he was a high level fencer then physical therapist.

Finally, enlivened by some video illustrations, evidence of history and evolution of sports from 1852 to our days, this party of commemoration was also marked by presence of some 25 high level ancient champions, young and old sportsmen in the eloquent honours lists, come this evening there, them too, to honour the French sports memory.
