Espace Cine evening "Mysteries"
The Epinay House of theatre and dance and the Academy of Music joined for one evening in movies-concert, saturdays January 29 at 8 p.m. 30. A meeting enters the silent film and the music for one evening of mysteries and investigations.

"To work around a silent film orchestration project"

In order to propose to Spinassiens (Epinay-sur-Seine people) always more appointment, the cultural structures of the city imagine collective events regularly. To mix original music and cinema, such is the objective of this evening. For the occasion, the academy municipal called upon the composer-orchestrater Francois Serveniere who has collaborated for several years with the director of the Musical Academy, Benoit Schlosberg around projects of silent film orchestration. This one imagined and wrote musical topics which will be interpreted by the musicians of the Academy orchestra. They will accompany three police films on line, a beautiful way to the silent film emotions revival. For Francois Serveniere "to work on silent films asks the composer to completely illustrate the cinematographic matter by music expressionnist. (...) To return directly in the image, to speak in the place about the situations and the characters". The police intrigues thus lend particularly well to this type of accompaniment.

You will be able, thus, to see or re-examine Cagliostro, a 1910' Camille de Morlhon and Gaston Velle's film on a Francois Serveniere's original music. It retrace the course of Joseph Balsamo names Cagliostro. Implicated in many stealing businesses, including that of the French Queen's collar (Marie-Antoinette), in 1786. Also at the programme of this evening, the 1912' Victorin Jasset's film, Zigomar contre Nick Carter. This one tells us emergence of what will become TV brodcast series, or how a Studios Eclair young director had the idea to win the loyalty of his public by imagining a hero returning for new adventures with each episode.

Lastly, Les deux poltrons, a Victorin Jasset 's film on a Benoit Schlosberg's musical creation tell the tracking mild nutter of two cowards, Lafrousse and Lavenette which think to have with a their russet-red regiment of criminals.
